Role & responsibilities Responsible for planning, operation, and maintenance of all electrical systems, equipment, and utilities in the Power Plant/Steel Melting Shop/Rolling Mill/ Sponge Iron Unit / Ferro Alloys Unit to ensure uninterrupted production, safety, and efficiency. 1. Electrical Operation & Maintenance * Supervise installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment in the Plant (Furnaces, Transformers, DG sets, Motors, EOT Cranes, LT/HT Panels, etc.). * Ensure smooth functioning of power systems. * Monitor and maintain PLC, VFD, MCC, and SCADA systems. * Troubleshoot electrical faults and minimize downtime. 2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance * Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. * Maintain records of breakdowns, spares consumption, and corrective actions. * Ensure availability of critical spares to avoid production loss. 3. Safety & Compliance * Implement electrical safety standards and statutory compliance as per Indian Electricity Act/Factory Act. * Ensure proper earthing, insulation testing, and safety audits. * Train team members on safe work practices in high-voltage areas. 4. Team Management * Lead and supervise a team of electricians/technicians.. * Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure skill development of subordinates. * Coordinate with production and mechanical teams for smooth plant operations. 5. Energy Management & Cost Control * Monitor power consumption and suggest measures for energy conservation. * Reduce electrical breakdowns and maintenance costs through effective planning. ** 6. Documentation & Reporting ** * Maintain logbooks, checklists, and equipment history cards. * Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and energy consumption reports. * Report major issues to Plant Head/Management with root cause analysis. You'll ensure the designs are practical, safe, and meet international standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare 2D/3D designs, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD / Solid Edge. Work on product development (packing & loading equipment). Create bill of materials, datasheets , and review vendor drawings.
