Job Description

Control-M Developer/Scheduler

EXPERIENCE:

34 years of experience working with BMC Control-M (V9.x or higher)
Solid understanding of job scheduling, dependency management, calendars, and conditions
Experience in creating and managing batch jobs for platforms like Windows, Linux, and Unix
Familiarity with Control-M Workload Automation modules (File Watcher, Database, SAP, etc.)
Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Shell, Python, or PowerShell)
Ability to interpret logs and debug job failures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, develop, and administer job workflows within the BMC Control-M scheduling environment
Schedule and oversee daily batch jobs, ensuring successful execution and timely issue resolution
Investigate job failures, determine root causes, and apply effective corrective measures
Collaborate with application teams to integrate new batch processes into Control-M
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation covering job configurations, dependencies, and process flows
Ensure adherence to job scheduling standards and organisational governance policies
Contribute to Control-M upgrades, patch installations, and environment migrations
Automate recurring tasks through Control-M scripts and APIs (CLI, AAPI, REST)
Partner with infrastructure and application support teams to optimise job performance and meet SLAs
Provide support for incident, problem, and change management activities related to batch processing
