Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Control-M Architect with strong hands-on experience in Control-M administration (Mainframe and Distributed), troubleshooting, advanced workflow design, automation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership skills, the ability to architect enterprise scheduling solutions, and hands-on experience with scripting to automate, optimize, and integrate Control-M environments. Should be a subject matter expert.

1. Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design

  • Design and architect scalable, resilient Control-M job scheduling solutions across distributed and mainframe environments.
  • Define standards, best practices, and governance for Control-M usage across the enterprise.
  • Evaluate existing scheduling processes and recommend improvements for efficiency, reliability, and compliance.

Implementation & Integration

  • Lead installation, configuration, and upgrade of Control-M components (Server, EM, Agents and Plugins)
  • Integrate Control-M with third-party applications, APIs, and monitoring tools.
  • Implement and optimize Control-M Workflow Insights (WFI) for SLA tracking, predictive analytics, and operational dashboards.

Automation & Scripting

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, REXX, JCL) for job onboarding, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Build scripts and utilities to streamline onboarding of applications and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Configure and deliver Control-M Insights reports for SLA compliance, job performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to design dashboards and provide data-driven insights.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with compliance standards (e.g., IT DR, SOX).

Leadership & Support

  • Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all Control-M related architecture and strategy.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Control-M administrators, engineers, and operations staff.
  • Troubleshoot critical scheduling and workflow issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

2. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Control-M (with at least 5 years in an architect/lead role).
  • Strong expertise in Distributed Control-M and good knowledge in Mainframe
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M Workflow Insights and Control-M Reporting modules.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in Shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, REXX, JCL, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to design and implement highly available, scalable Control-M environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, incident/problem management, and change control.
  • Experience with compliance/reporting frameworks (e.g., SOX, IT DR) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery automation in Control-M.
  • BMC Control-M Certifications will be plus.

3. Travel Requirement:

  • Should hold a valid passport.
  • Need to travel to client location in Dubai/Riyadh as per the need of the project.
