Contract Accountant

Employment Type: Contract (3–6 months)
Conversion: Post 3 months, based on performance and openings, there is a possibility of full-time employment.

Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Contract Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations and support the finance function. This role involves recording transactions, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance, and assisting in audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations and update entries in the books of accounts.
• Verify accounting entries for accuracy, compliance, and initiate transactions as required.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and cash flow statements to monitor liquidity.
• Provide guidance and support to Accounts team members.
• Prepare utilization sheets for grant management.
• Handle TDS, GST calculations, verifications, and ensure all statutory compliance.
• Lead audit preparations, provide necessary working papers, and liaise with auditors.
• Prepare monthly MIS reports, budgets, forecasts, and analyze variance (Budget vs Actuals).
• Coordinate with Chartered Accountants (CAs) and external consultants as needed.
• Submit accounting documents and reports to CAs and senior management.
• Lead the accounting and finance function, ensuring accuracy and completeness of books.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally) and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Leadership qualities to motivate and guide team members.
