Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Demi Chef de Partie – Continental who will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality continental dishes. The ideal candidate will assist the Chef de Partie in managing the section, ensuring food quality, hygiene, and smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook continental dishes according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Complete daily mise en place for the assigned section.
  • Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and minimal wastage.
  • Follow consistency standards for taste, texture, and quality.

Kitchen Operations

  • Assist the Chef de Partie in managing the continental section.
  • Supervise and support Commis chefs during service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils.
  • Report maintenance, equipment, or supply issues promptly.

Quality & Hygiene

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP/SOPs).
  • Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients.
  • Maintain proper food storage, labelling, and rotation.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist with stock checks and inventory updates.
  • Follow procedures for reducing wastage and controlling food cost.
  • Notify supervisors of low-stock items or shortages.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service.
  • Communicate with senior chefs regarding menu updates, preparation needs, and special requests.
  • Help train junior staff when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3 years of experience as Commis I/DCDP in continental cuisine.
  • Formal culinary education or relevant certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of continental cooking methods, sauces, and menu items.
  • Good understanding of kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork, discipline, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
