Job Title: Consultant General Physician Department: Internal Medicine / General Medicine Location: Medak, Hyderabad Reporting To: Medical Director / Head of Department Job Summary The Consultant General Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses. The role involves outpatient consultations, inpatient care, preventive health services, and coordination with other specialists when needed. Key Responsibilities Provide expert medical consultation and treatment to patients in OPD and IPD settings. Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders. Coordinate with specialty departments for multidisciplinary care when necessary. Conduct routine and emergency ward rounds and be available for on-call duties as per roster. Guide junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff in clinical care. Ensure proper documentation of medical records, prescriptions, and discharge summaries. Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs, and quality assurance initiatives. Promote preventive health awareness and lifestyle modifications among patients. Qualifications MBBS + MD (General Medicine) from a recognized medical college/institute. Valid registration with State Medical Council/NMC (formerly MCI). Experience 0–5 years of post-MD experience in internal/general medicine. Fresh MD graduates with strong clinical skills may be considered. Skills And Competencies Strong diagnostic abilities and broad clinical knowledge. Ability to manage common medical emergencies independently. Proficient in patient communication, counseling, and ethical medical practice. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital information systems (HIS) is desirable.
