Job Description

The Compounding Manager oversees the formulation, production, and quality assurance processes for PVC compounds, XLPE, Semion, ZHLS and other compounds complying with UL certification. This role involves managing raw materials, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing production efficiency to meet requirements. The manager is responsible for leading a team and collaborating with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Formulation Development:

Develop and optimize Compounding formulations to meet specific application requirements.

Conduct trials to improve material properties like tensile strength, flexibility etc.

2. Production Oversight:

Manage daily compounding operations, ensuring production schedules are met.

Monitor equipment, such as high-speed mixers, extruders, and pelletizers, to ensure efficient performance.

Minimize waste and maximize yield by implementing best practices.

3. Quality Assurance:

Establish and enforce quality control protocols for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished compounds.

Collaborate with the quality team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.

4. Team Management:

Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of production staff and technical personnel.

Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and company policies.

5. Raw Material Management:

Select and approve raw materials (PVC resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, pigments, PE, LLDPE, LDPE, EVA and carbon black etc.).

Coordinate with procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

6. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., REACH, RoHS) and environmental regulations.

Maintain proper documentation for audits and certifications.

7. Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process optimizations to reduce costs and enhance productivity.

Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends in polymer field.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 15-20 years of experience in Compounding or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of compounding materials, additives, and processes.

Familiarity with production equipment and quality testing methods.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.

Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
