As a Compliance & Litigation professional at upGrad, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the operations of the company and advising on strategic growth. Your responsibilities will focus on providing comprehensive legal and compliance support, anticipating business needs, and collaborating with various departments. Your expertise in corporate law, intellectual property, data protection, and litigation management will be essential in ensuring robust risk mitigation efforts. Your key responsibilities will include assisting businesses with compliance and risk management matters, conducting legal audits and due diligence, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal compliance frameworks. You will also be responsible for drafting legal communications, providing advisory support to business units, and managing litigation by coordinating with external advocates and counsels. In addition, you will be expected to anticipate legal support needs for new business initiatives, provide proactive business advisory on regulatory landscape and legal feasibility, and ensure compliance of advertisement creatives and marketing campaigns. Your role will also involve advising on data protection, privacy laws, technical compliance, and engaging in critical business questioning to understand legal implications of new strategies. To qualify for this position, you should hold an LLB degree from a reputable university, with an LLM considered a plus. Post-qualification experience in the corporate sector, expertise in IT Act and data protection regulation laws, clear communication skills, and strong analytical abilities are essential. You should also demonstrate the ability to manage complex legal projects independently and collaboratively, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
