Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Shop and Establishment Act:

  • Registering the establishment under the applicable state's Shop and Establishment Act.
  • Maintaining and updating records related to employees' working hours, leaves, wages, and other statutoryrequirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with rules related to working hours, weekly offs, holidays, and employment of women&children.
  • Coordinating with government authorities for inspections and obtaining necessary licenses and permits.

Managing compliances under the Factories Act:

  • Ensuring that the factory is registered under the Factories Act and maintaining the necessary licenses &approvals.
  • Implementing safety measures and maintaining records related to health, safety, and welfare of workers.
  • Regularly conducting inspections and audits to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
  • Managing documentation related to employment, working hours, wages, and other statutory requirements.

Overseeing compliances related to Contract Labour:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act.
  • Managing contracts with third-party contractors and monitoring their compliance with labor laws.
  • Maintaining records related to contract labor engagement, wages, benefits, and working conditions.
  • Coordinating with government authorities for inspections and resolving any non-compliance issues.

Keeping up to date with changes in labor laws and regulations:

  • Staying informed about any amendments or updates in the Shop and Establishment Act, Factories Act,&Contract Labour Act.
  • Advising management and HR teams on the impact of such changes and implementing necessary modifications to ensure compliance.
  • Conducting regular training and awareness programs for employees and management on labour law compliance.

Handling audits, inspections, and legal matters:

  • Coordinating and facilitating external audits and inspections conducted by government authorities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of required documents and reports during audits.
  • Collaborating with legal teams and external consultants to address any legal matters related to labour law compliance.

Preferred candidate profile

3+ years of experience in IR & Compliance Management
