Compliance Assistant

As a Compliance Assistant for Economic Substance, your role involves performing a detailed review of all documentation and communications for your assigned portfolio of clients to ensure compliance with economic substance requirements. You will need to develop an in-depth understanding of the BVI Economic Substance Regime and apply that knowledge effectively. Your responsibilities will include: - Advising directors on the direction and management test - Understanding the Core income-generating activities outlined in the Economic Substance Act - Ensuring compliance with outsourcing obligations within the Act - Maintaining adequate record-keeping for companies obligated under the Act - Fulfilling director's obligations as per the Act - Managing end-of-year filing requirements and certifications - Addressing premises and person requirements - Monitoring transactions and fulfilling reporting requirements - Analyzing existing business models for compliance with economic substance legislation - Staying updated on regulatory changes related to the Economic Substance regime - Handling filings with relevant statutory bodies related to economic substance requirements act Qualifications required for this role include: - Minimum of 2-5 years post-qualification senior financial services and legal experience - Ability to read, interpret, and communicate legislation effectively - Proficiency in the English language with strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience in client services - Commercial legal experience would be advantageous Please note that this position offers you the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients and contribute to ensuring their compliance with economic substance legislation.
