Compliance Assistant

Role Overview: You will be responsible for performing a detailed review of all documentation and communications for your assigned portfolio of clients in the context of economic substance requirements. It is essential to demonstrate an ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the BVI Economic Substance Regime and apply that knowledge effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Advise and guide clients on complying with economic substance legislation, including: - Advising directors regarding the direction and management test - Understanding the Core income-generating activities outlined in the Economic Substance Act - Ensuring compliance with outsourcing obligations within the Act - Maintaining adequate record-keeping for companies obligated under the Act - Managing directors' obligations as per the Act - Handling end-of-year filing requirements and certifications - Monitoring transactions and meeting reporting requirements - Analyzing existing business models for compliance with economic substance legislation - Keeping up to date with all regulatory changes related to the Economic Substance regime - Filing necessary documents with relevant statutory bodies in accordance with the economic substance requirements act Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 2-5 years post-qualification senior financial services and legal experience, with a proven track record of advancement - Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate an understanding of legislation - Proficient command of the English language with strong verbal and written communication skills - Experience in client services - Commercial legal experience is considered a plus (Note: No additional details of the company were provided in the job description.)
