Job Description

As a Commodity Buyer at our company located in Chakan, your role will involve overseeing the purchase of commodities, updating inventory strategies, and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable supply chain. Your responsibilities will include the following: - Managing the supply chain by sourcing, reviewing, and purchasing commodities. - Updating inventory strategies to enhance sales and manage stock quantities effectively. - Evaluating, selecting, and recommending new vendors to management. - Negotiating prices and purchase terms to optimize commodity practices. - Building and nurturing relationships with commodity suppliers and distributors. - Monitoring market trends and identifying risks in sourcing and procuring commodities. - Ensuring adherence to project-approved budgets. - Supervising department personnel in contract preparation and purchase order processes. - Resolving vendor disputes and addressing commodity-related issues. To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: - BE Mechanical/Production degree. - Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Supply chain and Commodity management. - Solid understanding of financial markets influencing commodity prices. - Experience in commodity trading and risk management. - Strong negotiation skills and effective communication with vendors and suppliers. - Advanced analytical capabilities. - Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. - Willingness to travel. Additionally, you must demonstrate expertise in: - Steel buying - Stampings - Tube buying - Handling spends exceeding 300cr - Proven track record of achieving 4-5% cost reduction on revenue - Team player with system and process implementation experience.,
