As a Commodity Buyer at our company located in Chakan, you will play a pivotal role in managing the procurement of commodities, refining our inventory strategies, and cultivating strong relationships with suppliers to uphold the integrity of our supply chain. Your responsibilities will also include overseeing adherence to project-approved budgets to support the company's financial objectives. To excel in this position, you must possess a keen business sense and a deep understanding of commodity markets, particularly in the realm of Steel. Your ability to navigate market risks effectively will be crucial in assisting the organization in achieving its commodity-related goals. Your key responsibilities will include sourcing, evaluating, and procuring commodities while keeping a close eye on market trends to identify potential risks. You will be tasked with updating inventory strategies as necessary to optimize sales and manage stock levels efficiently. Building and maintaining positive relationships with commodity suppliers and distributors, as well as recommending new vendors to management, will also be part of your role. Moreover, you will be expected to negotiate prices and purchase terms skillfully to enhance commodity practices, supervise departmental personnel in contract and purchase order preparation, and resolve any vendor disputes or commodity-related issues that may arise. To qualify for this role, you should hold a BE in Mechanical or Production, along with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain and Commodity Management. A solid grasp of the financial market's influence on commodity prices, experience in commodity trading and risk management, excellent negotiation and communication skills, advanced analytical capabilities, and strong leadership qualities are essential. Furthermore, the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, a track record of achieving 4-5% cost reduction on revenue, and proficiency in Steel buying, Stampings, Tube buying, and managing expenditures exceeding 300cr are must-have skills.
