Job Summary:- We are looking for passionate and motivated Commis Chefs (Commis 1, 2 & 3) to join our Bakery and Pastry team. Depending on your experience and skill level, you will assist in the preparation, production, and presentation of breads, pastries, desserts, and baked items. You will work under the guidance of senior chefs, learn professional baking techniques, and help maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the pastry section. As a Commis Chef in the Bakery & Pastry section, your duties may include: Preparing ingredients and mise en place for bakery and dessert production (e.g., weighing, measuring, sifting, mixing). Assisting in baking, assembling, and finishing products such as breads, viennoiseries, cakes, cookies, mousses, and tarts. Following standard recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency and quality. Supporting senior chefs (Commis 1 or CDP) in plating and presentation of desserts. Helping with dough preparation, proofing, baking, glazing, and decorating. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the workstation and pastry kitchen. Labeling and storing ingredients properly and practicing stock rotation (FIFO). Ensuring all hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards (HACCP or equivalent) are followed. Assisting with inventory, receiving supplies, and checking quality of ingredients. Learning and developing pastry techniques under the guidance of senior chefs. Supervising and guiding junior team members (for Commis 1 level). Role Breakdown by Level:- Commis 3 (Entry-Level / Trainee): Focus on learning and supporting basic tasks. Assist with cleaning, ingredient preparation, and simple baking tasks. Ideal for fresh graduates or those with minimal kitchen experience. 🔹 Commis 2 (Junior Cook): Handle more complex preparation and assist in full production. Work independently on simpler recipes and support the team during service. Typically has 1–2 years of experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen. 🔹 Commis 1 (Senior Commis): Take responsibility for sections within the bakery or pastry kitchen. Mentor junior team members (Commis 2 & 3). Handle advanced baking tasks and ensure quality control. Usually 2–3+ years of experience with solid technical skills.
