Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Chinese Commis 1 to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing authentic Chinese dishes, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support senior chefs in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and cooking of Chinese dishes (stir-fry, noodles, dim sum, etc.)
Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
Ensure proper portion control and presentation of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area
Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, marinating meats, making sauces, etc.
Ensure proper handling and storage of all food items
Work efficiently during peak hours and maintain a high standard of food quality
Support in inventory control and stock rotation

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in a Chinese or Asian kitchen
Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Team player with a willingness to learn and grow
Good communication and time management skills
Food Safety and Hygiene certification is an advantage
