Job Description

JD Mise-en-place: Preparing ingredients and materials in advance for cooking. Assisting with Complex Dishes: Helping the chef de partie with more intricate dishes and recipes. Supervising Lower-Level Commis: Training and guiding junior commis chefs. Ensuring Sanitation and Quality: Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, as well as monitoring the quality of food and portions. Receiving and Storing Deliveries: Verifying deliveries, ensuring they are of good quality, and properly storing food items. Inventory Management: Taking inventory of supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted items. Following Instructions: Accurately measuring ingredients and following the chef de partie's instructions for food preparation. Cleaning and Maintenance: Performing basic cleaning duties, ensuring work stations are sanitized, and reporting any defects in the kitchen or equipment. Food Preparation: Preparing ingredients (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, seasoning meats) and basic dishes like salads and sauces.
