Job Summary

The Collection Executive is responsible for timely collection of outstanding payments from customers, maintaining accurate records of receivables, and ensuring adherence to credit terms. The role plays a critical part in improving cash flow and reducing overdue balances.

Key ResponsibilitiesCollections & Follow-up

• Follow up with customers for outstanding payments via phone calls, emails, and personal visits
• Ensure collections are made as per agreed credit terms and timelines
• Coordinate with sales and accounts teams to resolve payment-related issues
• Negotiate payment schedules with customers when required, with management approval

Receivables Management

• Maintain up-to-date customer ledger and ageing reports
• Track overdue, outstanding, and disputed invoices
• Prepare daily and weekly collection status reports
• Escalate long-pending or high-risk accounts to management

Documentation & Compliance

• Collect and submit cheques, cash, online payment confirmations, and supporting documents
• Ensure proper receipt issuance and documentation
• Follow company policies and statutory compliance related to collections

Customer Coordination

• Build and maintain professional relationships with customers
• Handle payment disputes politely and professionally
• Communicate clearly regarding dues, credit limits, and payment commitments

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to follow up firmly yet professionally
• Good numerical and record-keeping skills
• Basic computer knowledge (Excel, accounting software, ERP)
• Time management and planning skills

Education & Experience

• Graduate or equivalent (Commerce preferred)
• 1–4 years of experience in collections, receivables, or field collections
• Experience in building materials, hardware, FMCG, or distribution preferred
