Job Description

Job TitleCOBOL Developer – Banking Sector (4+ years)Location: Mumbai or Pune

About The Role

We’re seeking a skilled COBOL Developer to build, maintain, and enhance core banking applications. You will work on transaction processing, account maintenance, batch jobs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

Write, test, debug, and maintain COBOL programs supporting banking operations (e.g. payments, loans, customer accounts)Work with JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM (and potentially MQ) for batch and online processingCollaborate with business analysts and QA to translate requirements into technical solutionsParticipate in code reviews, ensure quality and performance, document changes as needed

What You Should Have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent

4+ years of hands‑on COBOL development experience in banking or financial services Proficiency with COBOL, CICS, DB2 (or VSAM), JCL; experience with MQ or scheduling tools is a plus
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills; attention to detail is essential
Good communication skills; experience working in Agile or SCRUM setups is desirable
