Cobol Developer

The role is for a Developer with experience of working within a dynamic and demanding environment reacting to changing business needs who works equally well as an individual or as part of a team.

1. To Understand the project requirements functionally and Technically

2. To perform technical tasks (Adhoc tasks, batch runs) as per project need

3. Provide functional support as per project requirement

Responsibilities

1. The role is for a Developer with experience of working within a dynamic and demanding environment reacting to changing business needs who works equally well as an individual or as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-8 years Application Development and Maintenance & support experience. The candidate must have past experience of working as a part of large Development / Support team.

The role will also involve the all aspects of the Application development, M&E activities and to provide L3 support ticket resolutions.

Previous experience within the investment banking sector is not essential but a highly motivated and skilled individual who can add to the current group of talented resources is considered more important

• Technical expertise in Microfocus Cobol,JCL,DB2 and CICS
• Ability to analyze, debug and troubleshoot
• Good verbal and communication skills
• Knowledge in LINUX and shell scripting will be an added advantage
• Troubleshoot performance problems
• Good Knowledge of Unix Server environment & platforms
• Good Knowledge & Understanding Oracle & SQL.
• Flair for learning new tools & technology
• Good Understanding of Autosys scheduler
