Job Summary:

COBOL Assembler Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, code, test, and implement programs using
COBOL
,
Assembler
,
JCL
, and
VSAM
.
Analyze and modify existing mainframe applications to meet business and technical requirements.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Work with
DB2
,
IMS
, or
VSAM
databases for data storage and retrieval.
Optimize and refactor legacy COBOL and Assembler code for improved performance and maintainability.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation including design specifications and flowcharts.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and system administrators to deliver high-quality solutions.
Participate in
code reviews
, system integration testing, and production deployments.
Ensure programs meet company standards for performance, reliability, and security.
Support modernization or migration projects as needed (e.g., converting Assembler/COBOL modules to newer platforms).
