Job Title: CNC Operator

Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Factory Manager

Job Summary

The CNC Operator will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision components as per drawings and production requirements. The role involves machine setup, tool handling, quality checks, and ensuring smooth production while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Machine Operation

• Operate CNC machines (CNC Router / CNC Milling / CNC Turning – as applicable) as per job specifications
• Load and unload raw materials and finished components
• Set machine parameters (speed, feed, depth) as per drawings or instructions

Production & Quality

• Read and understand technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances
• Perform in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (vernier, caliper, micrometer, gauges)
• Ensure components meet quality standards and minimize rejection

Tool & Machine Handling

• Install, change, and maintain cutting tools as required
• Monitor tool wear and report replacement needs
• Perform basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all factory safety rules and SOPs
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Report machine faults, breakdowns, or safety issues immediately

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with supervisors, production planning, and QC teams
• Maintain daily production records and job status reports
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in production

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, or relevant trade preferred

Experience

• 1–4 years of experience as a CNC Operator (fabrication/manufacturing industry preferred)
• Freshers with CNC machine training may also be considered

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of CNC machine operation and basic programming understanding
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality checks

• Ability to work in shifts and under production pressure
• Team player with a responsible attitude

Working Conditions
