Cloud Devops Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Cloud DevOps Engineer to manage and scale our web infrastructure across multiple environments. You will be responsible for server administration, cloud infrastructure management, deployment automation, security, and developer support in a fast-paced digital agency environment. Key Responsibilities: Server Infrastructure Management Set up and maintain Linux-based servers (CentOS, Ubuntu) for staging and production. Manage cloud services including AWS EC2, RDS, S3, Route 53, etc Configure Docker containers, web servers (Apache/Nginx), and firewalls. Monitor system uptime and performance using Netdata, AWS CloudWatch, or similar tools. Hosting Deployment Manage various hosting platforms (DigitalOcean, AWS Lightsail, Cloudways, Hostinger). Automate deployments using GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools. Handle DNS, domain setups, and SSL certificate installations. Security Backups Implement server hardening and firewall policies (UFW, IPTables). Manage automated backup routines and restoration procedures. Monitor logs, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. Troubleshooting Support Diagnose server and application issues (eg, PHP/WordPress errors). Provide support to developers regarding plugin conflicts and environment problems. Collaborate with DevOps, developers, and third-party hosting support. Version Control Collaboration Manage GitHub repositories, permissions, and merge/pull request workflows. Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure stable code deployments. Required Skills Qualifications: Proven experience as a SysAdmin, DevOps Engineer, or IT Administrator in a web/digital agency environment. Strong Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu, CentOS). Proficiency with Docker, Git, SSH, and basic scripting (Bash). Solid experience with PHP, WordPress, MySQL/MariaDB debugging. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. Understanding of DNS, SSL, server security best practices, and cron jobs. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support developers and clients. Preferred Qualifications: AWS certification (eg, Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Administrator). Experience managing large-scale WordPress or WordPress Multisite installations. Familiarity with Cloudflare, CDNs, and server-side caching techniques. Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
