Clothing Technologist

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Garment Fit Technician with 7–10 years of hands-on experience in women’s wear, with a strong specialization in bottom wear. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of garment construction, pattern evaluation, fit analysis, and technical specifications, with the ability to ensure product consistency, superior fit, and quality from initial sample through to production. You will be a key technical authority, working closely with Buying, product development, production, and sourcing teams to bring best-in-class fit and functionality to our women’s wear category.

Key Responsibilities: Fit Evaluation & Approval ● Conduct fit sessions on live models and mannequins across all women’s wear categories. ● Provide precise fit comments and technical corrections based on wearability, silhouette, balance, and movement. ● Approve fit samples across all development and pre-production stages. Technical Specifications & Pattern Review ● Review and evaluate patterns, size specs, and construction details to ensure fit accuracy and production feasibility. ● Work closely with pattern makers and vendors to translate design intent into functional, wearable garments. ● Maintain accurate tech packs, measurement charts, and BOMs for each style and size set. Quality & Compliance ● Ensure all garments meet internal fit standards and comply with brand-specific tolerances. ● Assess and approve PP (Pre-Production) and TOP (Top of Production) samples for fit, measurements, and workmanship. ● Support QC and production teams with troubleshooting fit-related issues during bulk production. Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration ● Liaise with domestic and international vendors for fit approvals and clarifications. ● Collaborate with design, product development, and sourcing teams to manage sample timelines and fit milestones. ● Communicate effectively across teams to maintain fit consistency across styles and collections. Process Management ● Track and document fit iterations and maintain records for future reference. ● Suggest improvements to enhance garment fit, comfort, and customer satisfaction. ● Contribute to ongoing updates to block patterns and grading rules to reflect brand evolution and market feedback.

Qualifications: ● 7–10 years of experience as a Fit Technician, Technical Designer, or related role in women’s apparel, preferably with a focus on bottom wear. ● In-depth knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and technical fit standards. ● Strong understanding of women’s body types, movement, and fit expectations across various silhouettes. ● Proficient in using tech pack software and tools such as PLM systems, and Microsoft Excel. ● Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. ● Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams and vendors. ● Diploma/Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
