Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Administrative & Leadership

Supervise and coordinate all nursing services.
Manage staffing, duty rosters, and leave schedules.
Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.
Liaise with hospital administration and medical staff.

2. Clinical & Quality Care

Ensure high-quality, safe, evidence-based nursing care.
Conduct regular rounds and audits.
Enforce infection control and patient safety protocols.
Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions.

3. Education & Training

Plan and conduct continuing nursing education programs.
Supervise and mentor nursing staff and students.
Support clinical teaching and training activities.

4. Resource & Budget Management

Monitor nursing supplies, equipment, and maintenance.
Assist in budget planning and cost control.
Ensure optimal use of resources.

5. Compliance & Accreditation

Ensure adherence to nursing standards, ethics, and regulations.
Maintain documentation and readiness for audits/accreditations.

6. Staff Welfare & Coordination

Promote teamwork, discipline, and staff welfare.
Resolve grievances and conduct performance appraisals.
Coordinate with medical and support departments.

7. Emergency & Disaster Preparedness

Implement nursing roles in hospital disaster plans.
Ensure staff readiness and participation in mock drills.
