Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Civil & Structural - Consultant - LNG Tank with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas sector for Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

The Role

Must have exposure to
  • Geotechnical investigation report/recommendations for LNG Tank foundation and structure interaction.
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications & scope of work for EPCC bids for the LNG Tanks
  • Hands on experience in engineering design all the civil and structural aspects of the design of LNG tanks.
  • Experience in supported all aspects of Civil & structural engineering design of double walled prestressed LNG tank in all phases of projects FEED, Detail engineering and PMC.
  • Interface with other disciplines (through the Project Engineering Manager) such as process, piping, electrical, equipment engineering disciplines by reviewing the relevant documents as required to complete the civil and structural engineering aspects
  • Provide MTO in all phases and +/- 10 % cost estimate for FEED phase for the LNG tanks including the cost of piling foundation, base raft, tank body etc.
  • Review applicable EPCC CONTRACTOR s engineering deliverables and provide coding as per agreed Review Procedure within the comment review cycle period
  • Monitor closely the progress and issue of deliverables for review by EPCC CONTRACTOR as per the agreed schedule in PMC
  • Must have sound working experience in using Indian, Euro and American standards for Civil & structural works.
  • Thorough experience in production of deliverables such as General arrangement drawings for Civil & steel works, RC Detail drawings including LNG Tank works, Steel connection detail drawing, Earth work Lay out & detail drawings and supporting Calculations.
  • Should have experience on constructability review.
  • Exposure to American petroleum Industry & OISD requirement for Civil & Structural and LNG Tank works will be plus point.

Qualification: BE /B.Tech Civil Engineering
Years of experience: 20Yrs-35Yrs
  • Graduate Engineer with minimum 20 years experience in Civil and Structural, Oil & Gas engineering Design including LNG tank, should be conversant with international codes and standards.
  • Major experience (more than 15 years) should be from LNG Tank works.
  • Experience in PMC role handling LNG Tank works independently is essential.
  • Work exposure to 3D tools (PDS/PDMS) and discipline software such as Staad Pro/ SAP2000 etc. required.
  • Hands on experience on proposal estimate including man hour estimate, Cost & Quantity estimate
  • Communication and Management skills to handle Client & Construction contractor is required.
  • Master s degree in Structural engineering preferred.

The key objectives for this role are:

  • Review of LNG Tank work contractors drawings and document
  • Attending internal meeting & model review with client as LNG Tank work leader
  • Monitoring the project schedules/Quantities/Changes through timely review and comments
  • Ensuring all deliverables are comply with quality as per Wood /Client/Project/Code specifications & standards.
  • Review of vendor drawings/other discipline drawings for adequacy of Civil design input requirements
  • Provide inputs on permit, constructability and best engineering practice requirement.
