Civil Engineer - Slope Stabilization & Ground Improvement

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer specializing in slope stabilization and ground improvement to join our dynamic administration and infrastructure team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, durability, and long-term performance of civil infrastructure projects, particularly in challenging terrain and geotechnically sensitive environments. The Civil Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative ground improvement techniques and slope stabilization solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project-specific objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of geotechnical principles, advanced modeling tools, and hands-on experience in field supervision. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable engineering outcomes. Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive geotechnical assessments and site investigations to evaluate slope stability and soil conditions.
• Design and develop slope stabilization systems, including retaining walls, soil nailing, shotcrete, anchors, and drainage solutions.
• Apply advanced ground improvement techniques such as grouting, soil mixing, dynamic compaction, and stone columns to enhance soil bearing capacity and reduce settlement.
• Utilize geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC, GeoStudio, Slope/W) for modeling, analysis, and risk assessment of slope and ground behavior.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with local and international standards.
• Supervise field implementation of stabilization and ground improvement works, ensuring adherence to design intent, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, environmental specialists, and contractors to integrate geotechnical solutions into broader project plans.
• Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies for potential slope failures, landslides, or ground deformations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, materials, and best practices in geotechnical engineering and sustainable ground improvement.
• Provide technical support during construction, including resolving site issues, interpreting soil test results, and approving method statements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geo-technical or Geo environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of ${min_experience} years of hands-on experience in slope stabilization and ground improvement projects, preferably in infrastructure, transportation, or mining sectors.
• Proven expertise in geo-technical design software including PLAXIS, FLAC, GeoStudio, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, Eurocode, ISO, local regulations).
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical documentation, design reviews, and client reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work in diverse field conditions.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
