Job Description

Here are the key responsibilities for a Chinese Chef in a restaurant: Prepare and cook a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes with high standards of taste, quality, and presentation. Develop new recipes and enhance the restaurant’s menu offerings. Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks efficiently, and train team members on Chinese cooking techniques (such as wok cooking, dim sum, noodle making). Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety standards. Manage kitchen inventory, order ingredients, and ensure freshness and quality of food supplies. Plan and cost menus, organize theme events, and participate in menu development with management. Ensure readiness for service, manage food production quantities, and maintain proper timing during service. Respond to guest queries, accept and prepare special orders, and strive for guest satisfaction. Drive kitchen operations, staff training, and positive working relationships. Control costs, maximize productivity, and monitor competitor practices to maintain high standards. Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues as needed. Work closely with the Executive Chef or Head Chef on menu planning and food presentation standards.
