Chief Technology Officer (CTO/Head-IT & OT)

Role Purpose:

The CTO will lead and manage organizations end-to-end IT and OT infrastructure and drive the

digital transformation roadmap for the company's Phthalic Anhydride, DEP, CBG, and

Pyrolysis operations. This includes responsibility for enterprise IT systems, cybersecurity,

plant automation/OT systems, industrial networks, data platforms, and analytics.

The mandate is to build a secure, modern, and fully integrated IT-OT backbone that ensures

reliability, real-time visibility, and business impact across manufacturing, maintenance,

energy, compliance, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems

- Own and upgrade all corporate IT systems: ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365), HRIS,

payroll, email, file servers, intranet, and collaboration tools.

- Manage enterprise networks, servers, cloud (Azure/Hybrid), storage, backups, DR,

user access, and security.

- Build robust cybersecurity posture across IT (firewalls, endpoint protection,

monitoring, SOC).

- Ensure high availability of IT services and helpdesk/IT support for HQ and plant

operations.

2. OT Infrastructure & Plant Systems

- Lead the management of DCS/PLC/SCADA systems, historians, and automation

networks for Phthalic Anhydride, DEP, CBG, and Pyrolysis units.

- Standardize control systems architecture, I/O management, tag naming conventions,

and historian databases.

- Ensure plant automation servers, engineering workstations, operator consoles, and

field devices are secure, patched, and supported.

- Implement predictive maintenance, advanced process controls (APC), soft sensors, and

real-time performance monitoring.

3. ITOT Convergence

- Build a single integrated IT-OT architecture following ISA-95/Purdue model. - Implement secure edge gateways, OPC UA/MQTT protocols, industrial firewalls, and

VLAN segmentation.

• - Create a centralized data lake with automated ETL from OT systems to IT (ERP, Power

BI, dashboards).

- Enable real-time visibility of production, maintenance, energy, quality, and compliance

data to management.

4. Cybersecurity & Compliance

- Deploy a unified IT-OT cybersecurity strategy aligned to ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST CSF.

- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and audits of IT and OT

environments.

- Automate reporting for energy (BEE/PAT), emissions, EHS, and statutory compliance

with full traceability.

5. Data & Digital Transformation

- Own data governance, master data management, and reporting standards across IT &

OT.

- Deploy Power BI dashboards for CEO/MD covering production, energy, maintenance,

OEE, and financial KPIs.

- Develop AI/ML-based models for predictive maintenance, yield improvement, energy

optimization, and golden-batch analysis.

- Drive digital adoption across plants training, change management, and building

digital champions.

6. Program & Vendor Management

- Lead vendor selection and manage contracts with IT, OT, and automation partners.- Negotiate SLAs and ensure timely delivery of IT/OT upgrades, licenses, and support.

• - Build a multi-year technology capex/opex roadmap aligned to ROI and IRR targets.

Candidate Profile:

Experience:

- 15+ years in IT/OT management within process manufacturing (preferably chemicals,

oil & gas, or heavy industry).

- Proven experience in:

- IT Infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, security, ERP).

- Plant OT systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA, historians, MES, LIMS).

- IT-OT integration projects (ISA-95 / Industry 4.0).

- Industrial cybersecurity programs.

- Vendor and program management of large-scale technology transformations.

Education:

B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics, Instrumentation, or Chemical

Engineering.

Advanced degree (MBA/M.Tech) is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity, PMP/PRINCE2, Azure/AWS, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.

- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

- Ability to manage plant teams and corporate IT in one umbrella.

- Commercial acumen to evaluate ROI/IRR of technology investments.

- Change agent with hands-on problem-solving ability.
