About the Organization

Chengannur Farmers Producer Company Limited (CFPCL) is a Farmer Producer Company established under the Companies Act, 2013, with the primary objective of improving farmers’ incomes, promoting collective action, and providing access to inputs, markets, finance, and technical services. With the support of Centre for Science and Social Action (CISSA) and Small Farmers' Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC) company works to enhance agricultural productivity, value addition, and market linkages for its farmer members.

Role Overview

The CEO will be the executive head of the FPC, responsible for overall management, operations, strategy, and business development. ** Due to the nature of this job role, candidates who are closer to the location and native language speakers are preferred.**

• Develop and implement business plans, strategies, and policies.
• Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to enhance revenue and member benefits.
• Marketing and sales through GeM, Mystore and other online platforms.
• Ensure effective governance practices and compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, SFAC guidelines, and other applicable regulations.

Operations & Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the company, including procurement, input supply, processing, and marketing.
• Develop systems for financial management, accounting, and internal controls.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources for sustainable growth.
• Build and manage a strong team, including training and capacity building of staff and farmers.

Member & Farmer Engagement

• Strengthen farmer membership base and promote active participation of shareholders.
• Facilitate training, extension services, and awareness programs for members.
• Act as a bridge between the Board and farmer members for effective communication and trust-building.

Business Development & Market Linkages

• Establish strong market linkages for agricultural produce.
• Negotiate with buyers, traders, and processors for better price realization for farmers.
• Explore opportunities for value addition, branding, and certification.

Finance & Resource Mobilization

• Mobilize funds through equity, debt, government schemes, and grants.
• Ensure transparent financial management, reporting, and timely audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate in Agriculture / Agribusiness / Rural Management / Commerce / Business Administration.
• Knowledge of farmer collectives and rural economy.

Desirable:

• Postgraduate degree (MBA in Agribusiness / Rural Management or equivalent).
• Experience in working with FPOs, cooperatives, NGOs, or producer organizations.

• Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Financial literacy and business acumen.
• Ability to mobilize farmers and build trust among stakeholders.

Remuneration

• Salary: As per industry standards / project norms, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
• Performance-linked incentives may be provided.
