Chief Engineer

As a Chief Engineer at Holiday Inn Express Mumbai Powai and Voco Mumbai Powai Hotel & Convention Centre, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotels to ensure the safety and comfort of both guests and team members. You will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, manage repair needs efficiently, and motivate your team to maintain the hotels in top-notch condition. Your role involves directing the daily engineering needs, planning and assigning work to ensure the right team is in place, and developing and improving team performance through coaching and feedback. You will also need to establish performance and development goals for colleagues and recognize good performance. Additionally, you will be required to maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. In terms of guest experience, you will be responsible for addressing guests" needs promptly to ensure their satisfaction. You will also implement a maintenance program to ensure that the hotels are well-maintained and in service for all guests. From a responsible business perspective, you will need to maintain and order parts and supplies while minimizing waste and supporting green initiatives. You may also have to oversee hotel security measures to minimize risks such as theft, crime, and other hazards. Ad-hoc duties may arise, requiring you to collaborate with the team to accomplish tasks efficiently. Accountabilities for this role include overseeing maintenance operations for food and beverage outlets, meeting spaces, and catering/convention facilities. You may also supervise a small maintenance staff to ensure seamless operations. To excel in this position, you should possess some college education or advanced vocational training, along with at least four years of experience in general building maintenance or construction. Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields is essential. Additionally, having Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, and other relevant licenses may be required. Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred, and holding professional certifications and licenses if mandated by law is necessary.
