Chetak Electric Vehicle Service Technician

Bajaj Chetak electric scooter technicians are responsible for the specialized maintenance and repair of electric vehicles (EVs), combining traditional mechanical skills with expertise in electrical systems and software diagnostics. They work at authorized service centers, having received specific training from Bajaj Auto Ltd.  Key Roles and Responsibilities Maintenance and Servicing: Performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs to ensure optimal performance, safety standards, and adherence to the recommended service schedule (e.g., every 5,000 km ). Electrical Diagnosis and Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including the motor (developed by Bosch), motor controller unit, and associated wiring. Battery Management and Repair: Monitoring and managing the performance, safety, and capacity of the Lithium-ion battery pack, as well as the 12V auxiliary battery. Software and Diagnostics: Utilizing the latest diagnostic equipment to interface with the scooter's system, check and restore hardware and software to technically correct conditions, and address system alerts (e.g., the spanner symbol service reminder). Component Replacement: Replacing or repairing defective parts under warranty terms, which may include the battery or other core components. Vehicle Integration and Validation: Ensuring proper integration and validation of the electrical/electronic architecture and related systems. Customer Interaction: Explaining repair details to customers and ensuring they comply with the user manual and warranty policy regarding servicing exclusively at authorised centres. Documentation and Training: Accurately documenting all service and repair activities and participating in ongoing training sessions to stay current with evolving EV technology. Workshop Operations: Assisting with general workshop tasks, including inventory management, battery charging infrastructure oversight, and maintaining a safe, organized environment.  Qualifications Typical qualifications for this role include a high school diploma or ITI, basic mechanical and electrical understanding, and often formal training from a vocational school or an apprenticeship program.
