Automotive Service Advisor

Core responsibilities Customer Interaction: Greet customers, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs on a repair order.  Technical Coordination: Consult with technicians to understand the required repairs, diagnose issues, and discuss potential solutions.  Communication: Translate technical information and estimates into clear, understandable terms for customers.  Estimating and Billing: Provide customers with cost estimates, explain service details, get approval for additional work, and process payments.  Workflow Management: Schedule appointments, manage the service centre's workflow and schedule, and ensure a smooth process for the customer and the service team.  Follow-up: Keep customers informed about the progress of their service and notify them when their vehicle is ready for pick-up.  Customer Relationship Management: Build trust and strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.  Required skills and qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Essential for interacting with customers and service technicians.  Automotive knowledge: While not required to perform repairs, a solid understanding of automotive systems and terminology is necessary.  Customer service skills: A focus on customer satisfaction is crucial for this role.  Organisational and administrative skills: Needed for managing appointments, paperwork, and workflow.  Problem-solving skills: Ability to troubleshoot customer issues and find the best solutions.  Education: A high school diploma is the minimum, though some employers prefer automotive training or a college education.
