Role Overview: As a South Indian Cuisine Chef, your main responsibility will be to prepare and cook a wide variety of South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambar, rasam, chutneys, appam, Kerala curries, and biryanis. Your role will involve maintaining authenticity, taste, and consistency in all food items while also innovating and developing new South Indian recipes and menu items. It will be crucial to ensure the proper use of spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques to deliver high-quality dishes. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring portion control, minimizing wastage, and managing food cost effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and cook a diverse range of South Indian dishes with precision and attention to detail. - Maintain authenticity, taste, and consistency in all food items. - Innovate and develop new South Indian recipes and menu items. - Ensure proper use of spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques. - Monitor portion control, minimize wastage, and manage food cost. - Maintain kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards according to HACCP guidelines. - Train and guide commis/junior chefs in South Indian cuisine. - Coordinate with service staff for smooth and timely order execution. Qualifications Required: - Proven experience as a South Indian Cuisine Chef or similar role. - In-depth knowledge of South Indian culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavors. - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in food quality. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. - Certification in food safety and kitchen hygiene practices would be advantageous.
