Job Description

Responsibilities Key Elements of the Role: Ensure proper Allocation of Duties to ARFF crew. Conduct Training and Lectures as per schedule. Co-ordinate with the Technical Team for necessary rectification of snags identified during various checks and inspections. Ensure Operational Checks of Equipment and Appliances are carried out as per schedule. Ensure all records such as Occurrence/logbooks pertaining to various units of ARFF are maintained up to date. Ensure all records, including checklists and snag register are duly signed and acknowledged in every shift. Follow up with concerned agencies for the closure of observations identified during various checks and inspections. Timely preparation and dispatch of DAR and incident report to all concerns. To manage leave in respective shifts and upkeep the discipline, morale, and alertness of the shift staff. Ensure effective monitoring of R/T. During an Emergency, shall lead the first turn-out CFT and shall be responsible for determining the line of action necessary from the turn-out crew to mitigate the effects of an emergency. Shall be conversant with all SOPs, WI and Contingency plans of NMIA relevant to ARFF. Key Result Areas & Outcomes Expected From The Role Command on R/T communication. Rotation of crew to enhance their skills in handling different units of ARFF should be a key component while allocating duties. Adherence to the Training and Operational Check schedule and keeping defaulters and deviation in respective shits to Nil or a Minimum. Initiatives taken in coordinating with concerned agencies and closing the snags identified during various checks and inspections. Verification, acknowledgement and signing of various records on day to day basis. Timely communication of day-to-day activities in respective shifts to all concerns. Effective management of leaves of shift crew to keep overtime to a minimum. Initiatives taken in respective shifts to upkeep the morale and alertness of the crew. During emergencies, the efficiency displayed in determining the tactics and deploying the line of action for the crew along with command on R/T communication shall be a key result area. Optimum and Judicious use of extinguishing media and other resources shall be a key result area expected from the role. Qualifications Educational Qualification Essential 10+2 with valid Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) Driving License. Should possess Basic Firefighting certification from Aviation Fire Training Centre. Experience He should have at least 10- 12years’ experience of working with Aviation Fire Service. Show more Show less
