Role Expectations (Technical Role)

The individual is expected to:

• Participate in the routine maintenance and build of applicable Information Systems
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of application changes and updates
• Work closely with the departmental Manager/Supervisor, end users in all applicable areas, and vendors to maintain stable, functional, and progressive software applications

Skills Required

• Communicates effectively with customers, including making phone calls to customers outside of the Hospital organization to verify provider information
• Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates the ability to multitask, work under pressure with precision and accuracy, and cope effectively with rapidly changing priorities and a continual backlog of work

Good to Have Experience

• Day-to-day operations of IS HIM applications, including design, build, test, and maintenance
• Assisting with system troubleshooting, implementations, and software updates
• Participating in system testing and validation by assisting in the development and maintenance of testing protocols, and coordinating testing with end users when applicable
• Coordinating tasks departmentally/interdepartmentally to support IS Applications
• Working in a multidisciplinary environment to help maintain a stable and functional software application
• Developing, following, and keeping updated documentation on support of the system, as well as adhering to change management procedures
• Participating in on-call rotation schedule requiring immediate off-hours response
• Actively maintaining education and cross-training on all departmental areas of expertise

Summary

Responsible for gathering, interpreting, and utilizing complex data to maintain stable operations and ongoing improvement of IS Applications. These systems may include, but are not limited to, functionality to support clinical, fiscal, IS, and business operations.
