Installation: System Design and Planning: CCTV technicians assess the security needs of a location and design appropriate surveillance systems, including camera placement and cabling routes. Equipment Installation: They install CCTV cameras, DVRs/NVRs, monitors, and other related equipment, ensuring proper wiring and connections. System Configuration: Technicians configure the CCTV system, including setting up cameras, recording devices, and network connections to ensure optimal performance. Maintenance and Repair: Regular System Checks: CCTV technicians perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure all components are functioning correctly. Troubleshooting: They diagnose and repair faults in CCTV systems, including hardware and software issues. Equipment Replacement: They replace faulty cameras, cables, or other components as needed. Other Responsibilities: Technical Support: They provide technical assistance to clients, explaining how to use the system, troubleshoot issues, and ensure proper operation. Documentation: CCTV technicians maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and service logs. Staying Updated: They keep abreast of the latest CCTV technologies, including IP cameras, network video recorders, and video analytics software. Safety Compliance: They ensure all installations and maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations.
