CCTV Technician

Core responsibilities Installation and configuration: Install and set up CCTV cameras, recorders (DVRs/NVRs), and other security equipment. This includes conducting site surveys to determine the best placement and performing necessary wiring and cable termination.  Maintenance and repair: Conduct routine maintenance checks, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning systems, and replace old or broken equipment.  System upkeep: Ensure all security systems are operating effectively and efficiently. This includes monitoring for malfunctions and providing upgrades as needed.  Client support and training: Provide technical support to end-users and train them on how to operate the CCTV system effectively.  Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and any incidents.  Compliance and reporting: Ensure all installations comply with relevant safety protocols and industry standards. Technicians may also be required to prepare reports.  Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues with both the hardware and software components of the surveillance system.  Required skills Technical aptitude: Strong understanding of CCTV technology, including different camera types (e.g., analogue , IP) and their associated hardware and software.  Problem-solving: Ability to diagnose and fix issues with cameras, recording devices, and network connections.  Physical stamina: Ability to work in various environments, potentially requiring physical strength and climbing to install equipment.  Communication: Good communication skills for interacting with clients and other personnel.  Attention to detail: Necessary for accurate installation, proper documentation, and effective troubleshooting.
