CAM Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

• CAM Programming & Process Planning
• Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software for VMC, EDM (Wirecut, Die-sinking), and CNC machines.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, machining strategies, and parameters to achieve desired tolerances and surface finish.
• Plan machining sequences and fixture setups to maximize efficiency and minimize cycle time.
• Drawing & Design Interpretation
• Interpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models to create accurate machining programs.
• Collaborate with the design team for manufacturability and process improvements.
• Machine Setup & Support
• Provide setup sheets, tool lists, and work-holding instructions to machinists/operators.
• Support production team during machine setup and program prove-out.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary program adjustments.
• Quality & Process Control
• Ensure all programs meet required tolerances, GD&T, and surface finish standards.
• Optimize cycle times while maintaining part quality and tool life.
• Maintain program records, revisions, and documentation.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with production, design, and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Suggest improvements in machining methods, tooling, and CAM strategies.
• Keep updated with the latest machining and CAM programming techniques.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in CAM software (Mastercam, Powermill, UG NX, SolidCAM, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations (VMC, EDM – wirecut/die sinker, milling, drilling, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with tooling selection, fixture design, and cutting strategies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in CNC programming and machining.
• Knowledge of materials (steel, aluminum, hardened tool steel, etc.) and machining behavior.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹412,725.77 - ₹1,043,758.08 per year
