Position Purpose Purpose: Selected candidate is expected to independently provide solutions for complex functional changes to keep up with the demands of the business and technological advancements.
The application team is spread across London, Mumbai, Chennai and Paris comprising of senior technicians. The selected candidate is expected to collaborate with global team members and ensure platform resiliency.
Agile Scrum methodology is followed as SDLC. The person is expected to adhere to the scrum process as well as actively contribute to enhance the processes to achieve high quality of deliverables.
The application is multi-tiered, primarily developed in C++ with strong usage of Oracle PL/SQL, IBM MQ and Type scripting. It would be gradually migrated to .Net from C++. So, the candidate is expected to be comfortable with .Net technologies.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities Design and development of performance functional changes in collaboration with senior technical leadership spread across various locations such as London, Mumbai, Chennai and Paris.
Proactive contribution to build resilient platform by adapting and reviewing practices which would ensure high standard quality of deliverables.
Ability to grasp complex C++ component.
Comfortable to work in C#.Net as and when required.
Expected to show a steep learning curve to understand the application flows and independently work in the scrum.
Expected to learn about the product and all parts of the system at code level the code that makes it work.
Take initiative for technical/process improvements.
Perform code reviews and technically guide juniors.
Contribute to maintenance activities as and when required.
Write automated Unit tests and contribute to the CI/CD migration of the application.
Contribute to 3rd line support including support from home as part of a global rotational system.
Expected to take on tasks independently and own them across all stages of the SDLC.

Technical & Behavioral Competencies Sound knowledge of Software Engineering and Object Oriented programming.
High level of comfort and expertise in C++ programming including STL, multi-threaded applications and Services
Good knowledge of RDBMS / SQL, .Net.
Possess the ability to come up with solutions to cater complex business/technical requirements. Articulate solutions and work constructively with others including more senior and junior members in the team to implement the same.
Good in understanding complex legacy systems independently.
Possess good analytical skills to investigate production issues.
Good to have experience of MFC, Type scripting, IBM MQ.
Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and take the lead solving business focused technical problems.
Have a can-do attitude that focuses on resolving the overall problem in the medium and long term as well as meeting the short-term objectives.
Willingness and ability to put in effort even when not explicitly requested to do so.
