ZS is looking to hire a Business Technology Solutions Associate Consultant in ZS' Supply Chain and Manufacturing practice with experience in pharmaceutical drug development and tech transfer. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver projects in the pharmaceutical CMC development area for ZS clients. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in using and implementing digital laboratory systems such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), and ensuring GLP-compliant solutions to support CMC workflows; along with supporting Digital and Technology advisory, Product and Platform development and Data, Analytics and AI implementation.
What You'll Do:
- Support clients in adopting and optimizing digital laboratory solutions (e.g., LIMS, ELN) and embedding GLP-aligned data management practices within CMC development workflows
- Configure, customize, and deploy LIMS platforms to support sample tracking, workflow automation, and regulatory reporting
- Implement and integrate ELN solutions for experiment documentation, protocol standardization, and collaboration across research and quality teams
- Ensure systems and processes comply with GLP standards, including audit readiness, data integrity, and alignment with regulatory requirements
- Partner with scientists, quality, and IT teams to digitize and scale laboratory workflows
- Undertake complete ownership in accomplishing activities and assigned responsibilities across all phases of project lifecycle to solve business problems across one or more client engagements.
- Apply appropriate development methodologies (e.g.: agile, waterfall) and best practices (e.g.: mid-development client reviews, embedded QA procedures, unit testing) to ensure successful and timely completion of assignments.
- Collaborate with other team members to leverage expertise and ensure seamless transitions; Exhibit flexibility in undertaking new and challenging problems and demonstrate excellent task management.
- Assist in creating project outputs such as business case development, solution vision and design, user requirements, prototypes, and technical architecture (if needed), test cases, and operations management.
- Bring transparency in driving assigned tasks to completion and report accurate status.
- Bring Consulting mindset in problem solving, innovation by leveraging technical and business knowledge/ expertise and collaborate across other teams.
- Assist senior team members, delivery leads in project management responsibilities.
- Build complex solutions using Programing languages, ETL service platform, etc.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's or master's degree required in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology or similar degree
- 3-5 years of relevant post-collegiate job experience. A PhD may substitute in lieu of work experience.
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the functions in CMC development such as Process Chemistry, Process Engineering, Formulation, and Analytical Chemistry
- Understanding of the different data and information systems such as ELN, LIMS, ERP systems, and LCM or PLM systems
- Experience contributing to the implementation of LIMS, ELN, or GLP-compliant digital systems, with focus on improving CMC data integrity, regulatory readiness, and lab-to-business process alignment
- Willingness to develop expertise in system configuration, validation, and compliance aspects of pharmaceutical digital lab solutions.
- Knowledge of key concepts including unit operations, processes, quality by design (QbD), tech transfer, process validation, quality attributes, and regulatory milestones across pharma development
- Understanding of the CMC related regulatory submission requirements
- Experience with at least one tech transfer, explore to analytics, AI and/or technology implementation in CMC preferred
- Strong ability to identify data anomalies, design data validation rules, and perform data cleanup to ensure high-quality data.
- Project management and task planning experience, ensuring smooth execution of deliverables and timelines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with automation testing
