Role & responsibilities

Business Head Industrial Automation & Robotics Projects

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Strategy & Growth

  • Define and implement the strategic roadmap for the industrial automation and robotics division.
  • Identify growth opportunities, emerging markets, and sector-specific automation needs.
  • Develop business plans, forecast, and go-to-market strategies aligned with company goals.

2. Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of turnkey automation projects, from concept design and engineering to commissioning and support.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee integration of robotic systems (e.g., ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa), PLCs, SCADA, motion control, and vision systems.

3. Business Development & Client Relations

  • Drive business development by acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts.
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and new automation technologies.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with strategic partners, vendors, and customers to expand the organization's automation capabilities and reach.
  • Engage with CXOs, Leaders, and technical decision-makers to promote automation solutions.

4. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a cross-functional team of sales professionals, engineers, project managers, and service personnel.
  • Foster a performance-oriented culture that emphasizes accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, finance, legal, and R&D to ensure smooth project delivery.

5. Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Manage the business units P&L, budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor financial KPIs, margins, working capital, and overall profitability of projects.
  • Regularly report performance metrics and business health to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field); MBA is preferred.
  • 12–18 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong technical background in robotics integration, automation systems, and factory automation.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale automation projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong client-facing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
