Role Description — Business Engineer

This is a full-time Business Engineer role.

As a Business Engineer at XLINQ, you sit at the intersection of business domain expertise, software design, and model-driven engineering. You analyse complex business domains, extract and formalise requirements, and translate them into high-quality functional and conceptual models that feed directly into our software generation platform.

You will collaborate closely with domain experts, architects, product managers, and engineering teams to design reusable and compliant business capabilities for leading financial-services institutions or other organizations for regulated sectors. You will join a highly skilled Business Engineering team that thrives on tackling complexity and turning business knowledge into composable software.

What You Will Do

• Analyse complex business domains and processes within regulated environments (banking, payments, energy, government).
• Work with stakeholders to elicit, structure, and validate requirements.
• Translate business knowledge into conceptual models, information models, and process flows.
• Design reusable business capabilities that support composable architectures.
• Contribute to the evolution of our Business-Code methodology and modelling standards.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and product teams to ensure model-driven implementations match business intent.
• Support clients in digital transformation initiatives by simplifying their domain logic and processes.

What We Are Looking For- Required Skills

• 5–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Designer, or similar role in complex software projects.
• Strong technical affinity:

-data modelling (information models, conceptual models),

-process design (BPMN, domain flows),

-requirements engineering.

• Ability to design business functionality and translate it into structured, model-driven specifications.
• Strong domain knowledge in at least one relevant area (payments, banking products, KYC, lending, core banking, utilities, etc.).
• Understanding of object-oriented concepts; familiarity with modern languages (Java, Python, SQL) is a plus.
• Experience in business modelling, consultancy, or working in multi-stakeholder projects.
• Excellent communication skills — able to extract knowledge, structure abstract concepts, and present them clearly.
• Strong analytical and abstract-thinking capability.
• Experience with model-driven engineering, DSLs, or code-generation concepts.
• Prior experience in regulated industries (financial services, energy, public sector).
• Experience with composable architectures or domain-driven design.
