Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

The Manager Business Development is responsible for driving the growth of the company by developing new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring the smooth execution of orders. This role involves preparing cost sheets, finalizing prices, handling customer queries and issues, coordinating with various departments, and visiting customers to stay informed about new projects and improvements. The ideal candidate will have an Mechanical Engineer Degree with MBA, 7 to 12 years of relevant experience, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle customer interactions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Costing and Pricing:

    • Prepare cost sheets for parts or components.
    • Coordinate with the GM/MD to finalize prices for parts and molds using prepared offers.
  2. Customer Interaction and Issue Resolution:

    • Answer customer queries related to send offers.
    • Address customer issues by coordinating with respective departments.
  3. Customer Visits and Reporting:

    • Schedule and visit customers to understand new developments, pipeline projects, and areas for improvement.
    • Communicate insights from customer visits to management and relevant departments through visit reports.
  4. Order Management and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with the production team to send dispatch plans against received orders.
    • Measure received orders against sent offers using tracking sheets.
    • Compute the value of received orders using tracking sheets.
  5. Customer Feedback and Communication:

    • Prepare customer feedback reports via email.
    • Ensure timely responses to customer emails and follow-ups.
  6. Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with Production Planning & Control, Finance, Project Management, Purchase, and Design Teams to ensure seamless operations.
  7. Leadership and Teamwork:

    • Provide clear work instructions and foster a cooperative work environment.
    • Solve problems and conflicts, and handle customer escalations effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education:

    B.Tech (Mech) with MBA in Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    7 to 12 years of experience in business development or a similar role.
  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in preparing cost sheets and tracking orders.
    • Strong analytical skills for computing order values and analysing customer data.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
    • Ability to follow instructions and cooperate with various departments.
  • Customer Handling:

    • Proven ability to handle customers and resolve escalations.
    • Experience in analysing customer behaviour and tailoring approaches accordingly.
