Job Description

The Sales Head will anchor the Sales function with dual responsibility for strategic sales leadership and account management. This includes developing and executing growth strategies, overseeing day-to-day management of sales volumes and systems, and strengthening long-term client partnerships. The role requires building strong client relationships, institutionalizing robust sales processes, and equipping the team to deliver consistent, scalable results.
The Sales Head will act as the bridge between strategic client partnerships and operational excellence, ensuring both revenue growth and client success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Business Development
  • Develop and own the annual sales strategy and plans, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Monitor market trends and client needs to shape forward-looking sales plans.
  • Lead the design of market-entry and client-engagement strategies, identifying sectors, geographies, and accounts for expansion.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to design thought-leadership campaigns, events, and outreach targeted at new prospects.
  • Drive new business development, including prospecting, pipeline expansion, and conversion of Class A and B opportunities.
  • Account Management & Growth
  • Lead the account management strategy for existing NA clients, ensuring long-term partnership and retention.
  • Create account plans that drive renewals, cross-sell, and up-sell opportunities.
  • Conduct structured account reviews to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for deeper engagement.
  • Leverage data and intelligence to monitor client funding priorities, grant patterns, and organizational focus areas.

  • Sales Operations & Systems
  • Institutionalize sales systems and processes (CRM, lead tracking, pipeline reporting, account intelligence).
  • Standardize proposal management and other sales related workflows, and SOPs and ensure adherence ensuring efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure compliance and consistency across all sales operations.
  • Ensure learning and continuous improvement in sales operations

  • Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and mentor a high-performing sales team with expertise in consultative selling and account planning.
  • Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10-14 years in sales, account management, or business development, preferably in consulting, philanthropy, or advisory services.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in driving revenue growth, managing large accounts, and building high-performing teams.
  • Strategic Skills: Ability to design and implement sales strategies aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Operational Skills: Strong grasp of sales processes, CRM systems, pipeline management, and proposal development.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work across diverse advisory and delivery teams to unlock opportunities.
  • Client Engagement: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Data-driven mindset with ability to forecast, track, and optimize sales performance.
