Job Description

Position: Business Development Associate (Sales) Location: On-site Experience: 2+ years in business development or sales within the transportation industry Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Business Development Associate to join our on-site team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business development or sales, with specific experience in the transportation industry. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing and nurturing client relationships, and driving sales growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the transportation sector. Conduct market research to find potential clients and partners. Generate leads through various methods including cold calling, networking, and industry events. Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their transportation requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any issues. Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company sales goals. Work closely with the sales team to align on objectives and strategies. Conduct sales presentations, meetings, and negotiations to close deals. Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities. Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform business strategies. Monitor and report on key performance metrics and market conditions. Contract Management: Prepare, negotiate, and finalize contracts with clients. Ensure all contracts are compliant with company policies and meet legal requirements. Follow up on contract execution and renewals. Sales Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and business opportunities in the CRM system. Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management. Track progress against sales targets and KPIs. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years in business development or sales within the transportation industry, with a proven track record of success. Skills: Strong knowledge of the US or Canada transportation industry. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attributes: Goal-oriented and driven to achieve and exceed sales targets. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel locally or regionally as required.
