Billing Engineer

Job Summary:

The Billing Engineer will be responsible for managing and verifying all project billing and cost-related activities from the developers end. The role involves coordination with project sites, consultants, contractors, and the accounts team to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent billing, certification, and payment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contractor & Vendor Billing

• Verify contractor and vendor bills against work orders, measurement sheets, and site progress.
• Ensure all supporting documents such as measurements, RA bills, material reconciliation, and site approvals are attached before processing.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Engineers for bill confirmation.
• Maintain a tracker for all bills received, verified, and forwarded for payment.

2. Consultant & Professional Fees Billing

• Verify and process bills from consultants (Architects, PMC, Structural, MEP, Liasoning, etc.) as per agreements and milestones achieved.
• Track retentions, advances, and recoveries as per contract terms.

3. Cost & Budget Monitoring

• Assist in preparation of project cost statements and cash flow projections.
• Track committed cost vs actual expenditure on monthly basis.
• Highlight cost deviations or billing discrepancies to management.

4. Client Billing (if applicable)

• Support in preparation of client demand letters / milestone billing as per sale agreements.
• Coordinate with sales and accounts teams for collection follow-ups and reconciliations.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive billing records and digital files for audit and MIS purposes.
• Prepare monthly billing summaries and payment status reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with GST and statutory documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:

  B.E. / B.Tech (Civil) or Diploma in Civil Engineering.

• Experience:

  38 years of relevant experience in billing, estimation, or QS in a real estate developers office.

• Software Skills:

• MS Excel (advanced level)
• AutoCAD (for measurement verification)
• Farvision ERP

• Sound understanding of contracts, BOQs, and civil works
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective coordination across departments (Projects, Finance, and Contracts)
• Ethical and transparent approach to billing and certification
