Bidding Engineer Mechancial, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Review & Analysis

• Study tender documents, drawings, BOQ, and specifications for MEP works.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and clarifications needed from client/consultant.
• Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings if required.

2. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for:

• Mechancial Systems:

  HVAC Systems, Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ducting, piping, valves, insulation, diffusers, and controls.

• Electrical Systems:

  HV/MV/LV distribution, cabling, switchgear, panels, lighting, power systems, earthing, ELV systems.

• Plumbing Systems:

  water supply, drainage, piping, pumps, sanitary fittings, firefighting systems (if in scope).
• Collect and analyse supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Estimate labour, materials, equipment, overheads, and margins accurately.

3. Technical & Commercial Proposals

• Prepare technical submittals, compliance sheets, and method statements.
• Draft commercial proposals including BOQ breakdown, cost summaries, and payment terms.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.

4. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with design, procurement, and execution teams for inputs.
• Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and technical clarifications.
• Support management in pricing strategy and negotiations.

5. Bid Submission & Handover

• Ensure all documents (technical, commercial, legal) are compiled and submitted before deadlines.
• Maintain tender database and track bid status.
• Prepare handover documents for awarded projects to execution teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors Degree/Diploma in

  Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

  .
• 1–5 years of experience in

  MEP estimation/bidding (HVAC, Electrical & Plumbing)

  .
• Strong knowledge of

  MEP systems, BOQ analysis, and cost estimation

  .
• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD, MS Office & estimation tools.

• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tenders with tight deadlines.
