AVP Business Intelligence (BI) Consultant Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced AVP BI Consultant with 10+ years of expertise in business intelligence, data strategy, and analytics delivery. This role is ideal for a visionary leader who can shape and scale BI capabilities, drive innovation through a Centre of Excellence (CoE), and guide cross-functional teams in delivering impactful insights and data products. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in transforming business requirements into scalable BI solutions that support strategic decision-making.

Your Impact:

• Be a key member of the BI leadership team, helping define and evolve the BI Centre of Excellence and its strategic roadmap.
• Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making through advanced BI solutions and analytics platforms.
• Lead large-scale BI programs, ensuring quality delivery, managing technical risks, and aligning solutions with business goals.
• Translate complex business challenges into intuitive dashboards, reports, and data models that drive actionable insights.
• Shape and execute BI strategies across the lifecycle of client engagements—from opportunity identification to delivery and optimization.
• Champion data reliability, governance, and visualization standards across all BI initiatives.
• Mentor and influence a large BI and analytics community, fostering technical excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable BI solutions using modern tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker).
• Design and optimize semantic data models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI deliverables.
• Lead data validation, UAT, and performance tuning for BI products.
• Drive adoption of modern BI practices, including self-service analytics, embedded BI, and real-time reporting.
• Support teams in navigating delivery challenges and provide hands-on guidance when needed.

Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in BI, data analytics, and enterprise reporting.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale BI teams and programs, including mentoring and indirect management of 200+ professionals.
• Deep expertise in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.) and data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.).
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and data integration tools (ADF, Informatica, Talend).
• Familiarity with MLOps, AIOps, and LLM integration into BI workflows is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with SQL, DAX, MDX, and scripting languages like Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Understanding of domain-driven design, microservices, and event-driven architectures as they relate to BI ecosystems.
• Ability to define future-state BI architecture and strategy aligned with business transformation goals.
