About BluePill AI
AI-powered digital consumers — AI humans — modeled on real-world data and grounded in behavioral science.
We’ve raised $6M from top-tier investors (Ubiquity Ventures, Pioneer Square Labs, Flying Fish Ventures, and leaders from Amazon, Sequoia, and more) to build the future of consumer insights — where every brand has their customers “on speed dial.”
The Role
Behavioral Scientist
what traits matter, how decisions should be modeled, which data signals predict behavior,
This is a foundational hire — shaping the scientific integrity, repeatability, and competitive moat of our product.
What You’ll Do
1. Decision Modeling & Human Behavior Architecture
- Build frameworks for how different types of consumers make decisions (cognitive shortcuts, trade-offs, heuristics, biases, motivations).
- Translate human decision-making into computational models our AI can learn from.
- Define the psychological traits, values, and cognitive variables that shape consumer preferences.
2. Data Strategy & Trait Engineering
- Define
what data we should collect
to construct high-fidelity digital twins (survey data, behavioral data, psychographics, attitudinal signals, choice-based models, etc.). - Create mapping frameworks that connect real-world behavior → traits → model parameters.
- Work with AI engineers to encode traits, guardrails, and persona structures that mirror real human decision patterns.
3. Behavioral Validation & Accuracy Benchmarking
- Develop scientific methods to evaluate how accurately AI humans match real human choices.
- Design experiments, benchmarks, and validation loops comparing synthetic vs. human panels.
- Establish standards for reliability, variance, and replicability of AI consumer insights.
4. Research & Knowledge Translation
- Stay on top of academic research across psychology, behavioral economics, cognitive science, and marketing science.
- Convert complex behavioral theory into actionable frameworks for product, engineering, and customer teams.
- Build documentation and internal models that become BluePill’s behavioral science “source of truth.”
5. Customer & Product Impact
- Translate brand research briefs into behavioral frameworks the AI can simulate.
- Guide customers in interpreting synthetic insights through a behavioral lens.
- Help shape new features that leverage behavioral science (e.g., motivation scores, persuasion profiles, cognitive segments).
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have…
Core Expertise
- PhD or Master’s in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Cognitive Science, Marketing Science, Decision Sciences, or related fields.
- Deep understanding of human decision-making, heuristics, biases, psychographic segmentation, and quantitative research.
- Experience modeling human behavior using frameworks like:
- Prospect theory
- Utility modeling
- Cognitive biases
- Behavioral segmentation
- Personality and trait modeling
- Motivation and identity frameworks
Bonus Experience
- Experience with survey design, MaxDiff, conjoint, or experimental design.
- Experience working with AI/ML teams or computational social science.
- Experience building consumer personas or complex segmentation models.
- Familiarity with large-scale human data (consumer, marketing, behavioral logs, etc.).
Soft Skills
- Strong scientific rigor — but equally strong ability to translate science into simple, usable frameworks.
- Obsession with understanding why people do what they do.
- Highly collaborative with product, design, research, and engineering teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguity-heavy startup.
