**Job Description – Barista / Waitress**

**Job Title:** Barista / Waitress

**Department:** Food & Beverage

**Location:** Peninsula Redpine Hotel

**Reporting To:** Outlet Supervisor / F&B Manager

Job Summary

The Barista/Waitress is responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, serving food and drinks, and delivering exceptional guest service. This dual role requires efficiency in both café-style beverage preparation and restaurant service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Barista Duties

* Prepare and serve a wide range of hot and cold beverages (espresso, latte, cappuccino, cold brew, teas, mocktails, etc.).

* Maintain consistency and quality in every drink prepared.

* Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely.

* Keep the barista counter clean, organized, and fully stocked.

* Monitor inventory of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and café supplies.

* Follow all hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP).

Waitress Duties

* Welcome guests warmly and present menu items clearly.

* Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen/bar.

* Serve dishes promptly and according to hotel standards.

* Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction.

* Manage table setups, clearing, and resetting.

* Handle guest complaints politely and professionally.

* Process billing and payments through POS systems.

Hygiene & Safety

* Maintain cleanliness of the café/restaurant, tables, counters, and serving areas.

* Follow all safety protocols, sanitation rules, and grooming standards.

Stock & Inventory

* Maintain stock levels of beverages, cutlery, crockery, and service materials.

* Report low stock items to supervisors.

Teamwork

* Coordinate with kitchen staff, bar staff, stewards, and supervisors for smooth operations.

* Assist colleagues during busy operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

* 1–3 years of experience as a Barista or Waitress (hotel or café experience preferred).

* Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and service standards.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and multitask.

* Basic POS and billing knowledge.

* Flexible to work in rotating shifts.
